Married for 43 years, Helen and her husband Gregg have 10 children, between the ages 20 and 41. Two of their children still live in the Verde Valley. The others are either away at college or in other parts of the country, building families of their own.  more

Eleven-year-old C.J. Bast says his teacher is "one of the best." Bast, a fifth-grade student at American Heritage Academy, is talking about Gala Little. "She's always trying to help you," Bast says of his teacher. "She never tries to discourage you. She always pushes you to do your best.  more

American Heritage Academy's "Giving Back" program continues the spirit of giving throughout the year. AHA students in Cottonwood donate an hour of class time each week to local nonprofit organizations including; Red Rock Rehab, The Central Arizona Food Bank, Buena Vista Bright Futures and The A.R.C.  more

Stephen "Pista" Nasser was thirteen years old when the Nazis whisked him and his entire family away from Hungary to the terrors Auschwitz and Muhldorf concentration camps. He was the only survivor from a family of 21.   more
